SLIDESHOW: In Honor of American Military Women: Veterans Day

By JULENE ALLEN

  • Did you know Marilyn Monroe (Norma Jean) was a World War II defense worker?
  • Did you know Mary McLeod Bethune, a renowned civil rights activist pressured the U.S. Army to let black women in the Women's Army Corps (WAC)?
  • Did you know the first female rabbi to serve in the U.S. military was also one of the very first female rabbis ever in U.S. history?

These are all very fascinating facts. Yet our feature slide show only covers a small portion of women's achievements in the U.S. military!
